Campaign Content Co-ordinator

Department: Communications

Reporting to: Head of Communications

Location: Cardiff

Job purpose

The Campaign Content Co-ordinator will create a range of compelling content for the Group’s on-line and print communications and work with other members of the communications team to ensure it forms part of the Group’s integrated marketing campaigns. 

You will research and develop a range of engaging content to communicate key aspects of the Group’s marketing proposition, its operation, funds, expertise and impact.  You will devise creative ways to explain complex concepts in simple terms and ensure that they engage with key target groups to achieve marketing objectives. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a range of compelling content for the Group’s on-line and print communications, including advertisements, articles, attributed quotes, blogs, case studies, e-mail campaigns, media releases, SEO-optimised web content, statements.
  • Develop and tailor key messages and themes for specific target groups and channels.
  • Tailor content to suit different channels, ensuring that content achieves keyword, campaign and other strategies.
  • Where appropriate, work closely with relevant internal stakeholders to devise content for integrated marketing campaigns that contribute to the Group’s strategic and operational objectives.
  • Devise effective, measurable content/campaign strategies.
  • Manage relevant external agencies, stakeholders and suppliers, developing appropriate relationships with them to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Develop strong working relationships with customer-facing teams to ensure appropriate opportunities support business development activities effectively.
  • Contribute to the quarterly/annual marketing performance report as well as other ad-hoc reporting requirements.
  • Manage budgets effectively, measure effectiveness and prepare ad-hoc, monthly/annual performance reports to demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Prepare appropriate reports and other documents when necessary. 
  • Represent the Group at external events.
  • Prepare and manage robust tenders when necessary.
  • Develop strong working relationships with members of the communications team to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Manage and motivate team administrator(s) where appropriate.
  • Substitute for - and accompany when necessary - the head of communications at external networking and business events when required and as appropriate.
  • Any other task as may be defined by the head of communications to meet the department’s operational needs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience - Essential 

  • Good knowledge and experience of delivering integrated marketing campaigns based on targeted marketing.
  • Strong understanding and experience of analysing target market and online data to devise marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent copywriting skills.
  • Strong written and spoken Welsh.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organisational, project and financial/budget co-ordination skills.
  • Good team player who is able to assume different roles when appropriate and has experience of building cross-departmental teams/relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience - Desirable

  • Proven ability in a similar role.
  • An understanding of Finance Wales’ role in the Welsh economy.
  • A good understanding of the Welsh economy, industry, commerce and SMEs’ investment needs.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of industry, commerce, particularly relating to the investment needs of SMEs.
  • Recognised marketing qualification (preferably CIM diploma) or willing to study for a relevant marketing qualification.
  • IT literate to include the use of CRM, content management systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Full driving licence.
