Targeted investment Finance Wales provides commercial funding (debt and equity) to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) throughout Wales enabling them to realise their potential for innovation and growth. We invest in start-up and early stage businesses at a critical time in their life-cycle as well as investing in the growth of established SMEs. As a commercial growth funder, Finance Wales adopts a flexible but focused approach and is involved in a growing number of syndicated deals and co-investments. We can structure investment support ranging from a £5,000 loan to million pound plus equity deals. By tailoring our funding packages to each individual deal, we ensure the right level and type of funding maximises the growth of the client business. We also work closely with UK and Wales-based financial institutions and business introducers to ensure additional targeted and strategic investment. Our impact Since 2001 we have:

- Made 1,700 investments into Welsh SMEs

Established in 2000, Finance Wales is a subsidiary company of the Welsh Assembly Government and operates on a commercially independent basis. Our investment funding is sourced from the private and public sectors, including banks, the European Commission and the Welsh Assembly Government. Our aim is to develop self-sustaining funds which will support the continued growth of SMEs in Wales. Headquartered in Cardiff, the company has a professional and experienced investment team located in a network of regional offices spread throughout Wales.
