Rhiannon Wilkinson joins Finance Wales’ Micro Loans Team

Rhiannon Wilkinson has joined Finance Wales’ micro loans team, covering South East Wales as a Senior Investment Executive.

Rhiannon Wilkinson has joined Finance Wales’ micro loans team, covering South East Wales as a Senior Investment Executive. 

Wilkinson joins the team of three Investment Executives based throughout Wales providing a local service focused making micro loans of between £1,000 and £50,000.

Micro loans of between £1,000 and £50,000 are available from Finance Wales from the £6 million Wales Micro-business Loan Fund as well as the £150 million Wales JEREMIE Fund.  Finance Wales can also provide follow on funding to support the growth of the business. additional loans as businesses grow.

Having worked for Finance Wales for over 10 years Wilkinson has considerable experience working with both start-up and established businesses.

Demand for micro loans from Finance Wales more than doubled in the 2012 -13 financial year, compared to the previous financial year.  Since the launch of the fund in April 2013 Finance Wales has supported more than 60 businesses across Wales investing nearly £1 million.

Wilkinson is pleased to be joining Finance Wales’ micro loans team.  She said: “A wide range of small businesses in Wales can now benefit from Finance Wales’ micro loans. They continue to be popular with start-ups and micro businesses because they can help with a variety of practical requirements such as start-up costs, capital expenditure and stock purchases.  Added to this, businesses often use them to unlock much-needed additional investment. 

“I’ve specialised in investing in small businesses throughout my career at Finance Wales and I’ve seen the impact relatively small, focused investments can have.  I’m looking forward to developing relationships with small businesses in South East Wales and also building my network of advisers,” she added.
