Local business breakfasts to showcase funding options available from Finance Wales

Loans and other investments from Finance Wales are already providing over 3000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) all over Wales with the backing they need to punch above their weight.

Thanks to some new Welsh Government funds, Finance Wales can now invest in a wider range of Welsh SMEs than ever before and also help with short as well as long-term funding requirements.

Now, Finance Wales is hosting a series of local business breakfasts throughout Wales in July.  Businesses can meet their local Finance Wales team and hear about new funding opportunities as well as book one-to-one meetings to discuss their detailed requirements.

Finance Wales invested over £33 million in 2013 -14 and these investments are playing an important role in helping Welsh businesses create and safeguard jobs. They also attract additional investment to Wales and impact the economy in a number of other ways, such as creating opportunities for local suppliers and encouraging businesses to invest in research and development.

Finance Wales can provide SMEs with flexible, tailored funding of between £1,000 and £2 million, including the working capital they need to finance the performance, warranty and advance payment bonds they need to bid for larger contracts.

Funding is also available to fund bulk and one-off stock/component purchases, increasing SMEs’ buying power, helping them to bid for larger contracts and reducing the contract fulfilment costs.

“Thanks to some new Welsh Government Funds we’re now managing, we can now help Welsh SMEs with their working capital requirements as well as their long-term growth funding needs.  We’re encouraging SMEs and their advisers to join their local Finance Wales team at one of our July briefings to discuss their specific funding needs in more detail,” explained Mike Owen, Group Investment Director at Finance Wales.
