Brecon luxury goods supplier set for expansion backed by a micro loan from Finance Wales
A Brecon-based company and sole distributor of the Italian
luxury brand, Cosi Tabellini in the UK and Ireland is expanding
thanks to a micro loan from Finance Wales.
The Cosi Tabellini range of over 1,000 hand-crafted pewter,
crystal and ceramics pieces is known throughout the world.
Pieces have appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and
will be featured in season 3 of Vikings. They are also
stocked by high-end retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman
Marcus and Barneys of New York and grace luxury and boutique hotels
and restaurants such as The Four Seasons and Soho House
Owner, Jenny Jones, who invested her own funds in the business,
plans to expand her customer base within the retail, interior
design and luxury hospitality sectors. She will use Finance
Wales’ micro loan to improve her retail website, attend trade shows
and implement new marketing strategies.
“I’m very proud to sell Cosi Tabellini, it’s a genuinely unique
product hand-crafted from quality materials by highly skilled
Italian artisans in an area of Italy famous for pewter craftwork.
It’s a third-generation family run company established in 1954 that
has remained true to its origins.
“Finance Wales’ loan has given my business a boost, helping me
to raise awareness of Cosi Tabellini in the gifts and homewares
markets in the UK and Ireland and expand my customer base.
I’m attending trade shows to develop my networks and also building
my social media presence. I also have plans to develop an
online wedding registry for my website in time for the 2015 summer
weddings rush,” Jenny explained.
Gaynor Morris, Investment Executive in Finance Wales’ microloans
team based in Mid-Wales arranged the loan for Cosi Tabellini.

and her customers and sales have been brisk in the past few
months. She’s demonstrated great personal drive and
commitment since she set up the business and has some clear ideas
and plans for the future.

Finance Wales’ micro loan came from the Wales JEREMIE Fund which
is backed by the European Regional Development Fund through the
Welsh Government and the European Investment Bank under the
European Commission's Joint European Resources for Micro to Micro
to Medium Enterprises (JEREMIE) initiative.
Micro loans are also available from the £6 million Welsh
Government-backed Wales Micro-business Loan Fund.
