Vending specialist looks to provide new services thanks to Finance Wales loan
One of the UK’s leading suppliers of confectionery tower
vending machines has secured a £150,000 loan from Finance Wales to
expand the range of services it provides.
Established in 2009, Hurleys International
Foods (Hurleys) will use the finance to purchase new equipment and
machinery to develop its onsite confectionery bagging
The investment is expected to create ten new
jobs and safeguard the 35-strong local workforce it employs at its
The upgrade comes after the company recently
secured a major packaging contract with leading confectionery
supplier Bon Bon Buddies which provides Disney branded
confectionery products in the UK. Since January this year,
Hurleys has already handled over 1.5 million units for Bon Bon
Buddies with future orders expected to rise to around 1.2 million
units per month.
Twenty four hour shift work is now being
introduced at the company to deal with the increase in
Hurleys Director Robert Dent, who has worked
in the vending industry for the last 12 years, is excited about
expanding and developing the company’s new packaging services.
“As a leader in a niche market we’re always
looking at opportunities to grow our customer base. Bon Bon Buddies
is based in Blackwood and were keen to work with a local supplier.
We were able to step in and offer a high-quality service that
has simplified its supply chain.
“Thanks to the loan from Finance Wales we’ve
been able to invest in the new equipment we need to increase our
capacity and develop our relationship with Bon Bon Buddies.
We can now process larger orders more quickly which means we
can take on higher value contracts.”
Hurleys is only one of two providers of
vending towers and confectionery pots for pubs, clubs and offices
throughout the UK. The vending towers typically dispense both
Hurleys own-branded confectionery items alongside popular products
such as Salysol nuts and Pringle crisps.
