Felinheli brand exports greeting cards to Hong Kong

A luxury paper goods brand based in Felinheli is now selling greeting cards in Hong Kong.   Caryl Halstead (formerly Miss Bela Designs), re-branded and re-launched at the design led trade show ‘Top Drawer’ at the London Olympia, Kensington mid-January this year.

It was there that Caryl Owen-Halstead (Director and Owner) was approached by distributor ‘House of Cards Distribution Ltd’ about exporting the greeting cards to sell in around 40 shops in Hong Kong.  The order was finalised two weeks ago and the first shipment of approx. 600 cards are on their way over as we speak.  “As you can imagine, we are extremely thrilled and excited to be exporting this early on in the brand’s history, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.  We supply Welsh and English cards and paper goods to retailers throughout Wales and England, as well as online through our own website and www.notonthehighstreet.com.  We are currently speaking to sales agents around the country to work with us as well.”

Caryl took advantage of Finance Wales’ streamlined two-day application process for their micro loans to enable her to re-brand and exhibit at the national show. “The process was easy and Finance Wales were extremely helpful with my application.  Without their help I wouldn’t have been able to exhibit at Top Drawer, so it’s really given the new brand the kick start it needed in order to upscale, go forward and succeed.”

Greeting cards are sold in 1 in every 6 shop/retail outlet, and the industry in the UK is worth over £1billion.  It is directly and indirectly responsible for around 100,000 jobs in the UK.  Caryl Halstead is a member of the Greeting Card Association, the trade association for the greeting card industry.
