The Wales SME Investment Fund

Finance Wales manages the £40 million Wales SME Investment Fund, backed by the Welsh Government and Barclays. The Fund complements a range of other Funds, so many more SMEs are potentially eligible for investment from Finance Wales.

 



The Wales Micro-business Loan Fund

Launched in 2012, this now £12 million Welsh Government-backed fund provides micro-loans to micro-businesses, complementing the Wales JEREMIE Fund.

£1 million of this fund is earmarked for micro loans to social enterprises. The Wales Council for Voluntary Action manages this element of the Fund for Finance Wales.




The Wales Property Development Fund

Launched in 2013 by the Welsh Government this £10 million fund offers loans of between £250,000 and £1 million for construction companies developing small-scale, non-speculative commercial and residential property in Wales.

 



The Wales Capital Growth Fund

Launched in April 2014 and backed by the Welsh Government, the Wales Capital Growth Fund provides short-term loan funding to Welsh SMEs with a maximum repayment term of 18 months.


 



The Wales Technology Seed Fund

The five-year Wales Technology Seed Fund is aimed at technology start-ups, university spin-outs and IP-rich companies to help them commercialise their innovative products and technologies and bring them to market


 


Help to Buy - Wales Shared Equity Loan Fund

This is a £454 million shared equity loan scheme designed to support home ownership, stimulate building activity and provide a welcome boost to the housing sector.

 


The Wales Business Fund

The Wales Business Fund is the successor to the now full invested Wales JEREMIE Fund.  It can provide business loans and equity packages from £50,000 up to £2 million, back start-ups, established SMEs and start-up/early stage tech ventures and support businesses across a wide range of sectors.

The Wales Business Fund will mean Welsh SMEs can collectively access up to £136m of financial support over the next seven years, ensuring they are well placed not only to develop their home markets but also to compete internationally.

The Wales JEREMIE Fund

Launched in 2009, the £150 million Wales JEREMIE fund was s a pioneering fund and was the first of its kind in Europe.

The Fund comprised of funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and EU under the EU’s JEREMIE (Joint European Resources for Micro to Medium Enterprises) initiative, a grant from the European Regional Development Fund as well as Finance Wales itself.
