Why we invested
The Wales Creative IP Fund recognised Grandpa in my Pocket's
strong commercial appeal and negotiated a favourable
recoupment position. The BBC was also committed to the
production.
Adastra brought their production to Wales: Grandpa in my Pocket
was part-filmed at Enfys' digital TV studios and Dinamo
carried out CGI animation and special effects work.
Investment outcome
The production spent £800K in Wales.
Grandpa in My Pocket quickly became CBeebies top-rated show:
attracting 584,000 for its first transmission. The BBC confirmed
its committment to a second series before the first series aired.
The first series moved to BBC1 immediately after
its CBeebies transmission concluded.
